What we collect
Upaysutra is operated by Aditya, a sole proprietor trading as InviteSutra and Upaysutra, Bengaluru, who decides how your data is used. We collect account details (name, email, phone), the birth details (date, time and place) you enter for kundli and consultations, wallet and session history, in-app messages during consultations, and device/log data for security. You must be 18 or older to use Upaysutra. Your phone number is not shared with astrologers; communication stays in-app. We do not record voice calls.
How we use it
We use your data to run consultations and kundli/horoscope features, process payments, prevent fraud, resolve complaints, send service-related notifications, and improve the product. We process it with your consent, given when you sign up and when you enter your birth details, and where the law allows. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or writing to us; some features may then stop working. We do not sell your personal data.
Sharing
We share data only as needed with payment partners, hosting and database providers, voice-call and push-notification services, and analytics tools, under contract. Some of these providers may process data outside India. Astrologers see only what is needed for your session (e.g. display name, birth details you share, chat content during the session). We may disclose data when the law requires it.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data from Account > Delete account or by writing to support.upaysutra@gmail.com; we reply within 15 days. When you delete your account we remove your profile, birth details and chats, except records we must keep by law, such as billing and transaction records, which we keep for as long as tax and accounting laws require. If a personal data breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires. For complaints, contact our Grievance Officer, Aditya, at the same email.
Astrologer applications
If you apply as an astrologer, we collect identity and KYC documents (such as Aadhaar, PAN, photograph and bank or UPI details) only to verify you, run payouts and meet legal requirements. If an application is not approved, these documents are deleted within 30 days of the decision. After an astrologer leaves, documents are deleted, except records we must keep under tax and accounting laws. We retain a minimal record of each decision for audit and fraud prevention. You can request earlier deletion by contacting support.
